Co- curricular activities

Co- curricular activities have become an integral part of the curriculum. It not only make the students active and energetic but also enable to harness the in-depth potentials of the students. With the view of student- centered education, the Montfortians along with the academics are involved in various co-curricular activities like literary , cultural, sports and games and their performance is exhibited in the bulletin board every term. To display the various talents, the students are also encouraged to participate in Inter college competitions.

Celebrations at Montfort Junior College

Independence Day: The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor in the Montfort Junior College. The Chief Guest of the day was Mrs.Kulkarni the manager of Federal Bank ,Dadar Unit. Mr.Snehankit Gawade an ex-student of the college batch 2016 was the special guest of honour.

Freshers’ Day: It was organized on 1st September by the students of SYJC. Our Director welcomed the freshers’ and told them about the institution and how the college will help them not only by a good educational support but also give opportunities to exhibit their talents through the co-curricular activities.

Teachers’ Day: Teachers’ were in for a surprise on 5th September! Students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers. .The teachers were overwhelmed by the program conducted by the students.

Traditional Day: It is planned not only to bring out the tradition of India but also with the view to make the students learn about trading. This helped the students to be a decision maker, organizer and responsible.

Diwali Celebration: The festival of lights was celebrated with the information about the importance of Diwali followed by the cultural program. The students enjoyed the celebrations whole heartedly.

Christmas Celebration:Christmas is a time of love, peace, joy and contentment, an occasion for giving sharing and laughter. It’s coming together with family and friends. With this thought a meaningful tableau was organised to celebrate Christmas. It was followed by melodious carol singing. It was a great pomp and show enjoyed by the students.

Annual Day: The much awaited Annual Day program at the Montfort Jun - ior College for the academic year 2018-19 was held on the 31st of January, 2019. The guests consists of a galaxy of educationalist connected with H.S.C Education.

The Chief Guest for the day was Rev. Br. Franky Naronha, the Provincial Superior. Other guests were Mr. Prabhakar Chaudary, Dy. Educational Officer, Mr Fredrick Arland, Vice Principal, St. Andrew’s Jr. College and Mrs. Benzy Farro, Vice President of PTA.

They were given a warm welcome by the Director of the college Rev. Br. Geroge after the lamp was lit by the dignitaries. The students presented mesmerizing cultural events such as dances, singing (solo and group), plays which conveyed various social messages of Friendship and Unity in Diversity. The annual report was presented through a video which made the audience aware of the college’s achievements in academic and co-curricular arenas.

Prizes were given away to the toppers of last year and to the students who had done well in the co-curricular activities held throughout the year. ‘The Best Outgoing student of the year’ was given to Ms. Madonna Farro and the Rolling Trophy was won by the Vivekanand Group.
